President Donald Trump's December airstrikes targeted Islamic State (ISIS) objectives in Nigeria, indicating a potential for further US military involvement. General Dagvin R.M. Anderson, head of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM), confirmed the deployment during a press briefing, highlighting the unique capabilities the US team brings to the table.
The mission's specifics, including its size and scope, remain undisclosed. However, it follows a significant meeting between General Anderson and Nigerian President Bola Tinubu in Rome, where they discussed strategies to combat terrorism.
